The second edition of the Giorgi Competition ended with a positive balance both for the considerable number of participants and for their very high artistic level.
The Final, held on 25 and 26 July, at the Sala dei Medaglioni of the Santa Cecilia Conservatory in Rome, highlighted the interpretative preparation of the 10 candidates, proclaiming the Korean Minchul Kim, winner of the first prize, followed by the twenty-year-old Alessandro Spada who won the second prize
Third place went to Riccardo Baiocco, a finalist in the first edition.
The special prize for contemporary music, offered by the Est-Ovest Association, was awarded to the Argentine Andres Fernandez Subiela, who will perform in a recital on November 26th, in a seasonal concert in the city of Cuneo.
In addition to this live event that we will share on our social media, we would like to point out Minchul Kim's participation in the next 2024/25 concert season of Solisti Aquilani, who have believed in the Competition since the first edition, offering a solo concert to the first place winner.
We must also express our gratitude to the Director of the Santa Cecilia Conservatory, in the person of Maestro Franco Antonio Mirenzi, who supported the initiative, offering their aegis to and a warm hospitality that we hope will be renewed for the third edition in 2026.
